Central Aroostook Forestry BMP Workshop

The Maine Forest Service, Huber Engineered Woods, and the Central Aroostook Soil & Water Conservation District are providing a free workshop on “Using the Latest Technology for Proper Planning and Implementation of Best Management Practices”. Continuing Education Credits are available (QLP, CLP, ME LPF).

This workshop will provide training in the use of Google Earth and other mobile navigational apps that are helpful in cruising timber and harvest planning. We’ll demonstrate the latest that is currently available to help landowners, foresters, loggers and others to make informed decisions about, finding harvestable timber, preparing harvesting jobs and using BMP’s. In addition to a classroom presentation, participants will take a tour of a woodlot that was looked at on Google Earth, make a track and
waypoints. Bring a mobile device, laptop computer, tablet or smart phone. Not necessary if you don’t have one.
